Matt Gilroy joined the Fulton County Economic Development Corporation in August of 2014 as the first Executive Director of the newly formed non-profit organization.
Matt has more than ten years of experience in the non-profit sector and has extensive experience in business development, fundraising and managing non-profit organizations.
Prior to joining the FCEDC Matt worked at Defiance College as the Chief Development Officer, overseeing a staff of nine people in Advancement and Alumni Relations, and at Pro Medica Defiance Regional Hospital Foundation, where he increased annual contributions more than 300% over his tenure.
Matt is proud to have raised funds for Kaitlyn’s Cottage, a place of respite for young adults with special needs.
To date, Kaitlyn’s Cottage is the only respite center of its type located on a community hospital campus in the United States.
Shannon Shulters joined the Fulton County Economic Development Corporation in March of 2015.She is a graduate of the Evergreen High School and has her Associates Degree in Business Administration, specializing in Banking, Investment and Finance.She is currently a senior at Tiffin University working towards completing her Bachelor’s Degree online in Business Administration in Organizational Management and is looking forward to graduation in the spring of 2016.Shannon comes from a diverse working background; she started as a small town restaurant waitress during high school, which then transitioned into a nurse’s assistant shortly after high school graduation.A change in career goals took place four years later she started working as a bank teller and new accounts representative.In 2014 she went to work for the Fulton County Commissioners as the Assistant Clerk, which lead her to find her passion in Economic Development.Shannon resides in Fulton County with her husband and two daughters in her hometown of Metamora.During her free time Shannon enjoys exercising and running, recently finishing her first half-marathon.Mia Wenger started her internship with the Fulton County Economic Development Corporation in May of 2016.She graduated from Wauseon High School in May of 2016 and is currently enrolled as a Freshman at Marymount Manhattan College in New York City.Mia is pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance with a concentration in Jazz. Mia’s work for the FCEDC includes leading the efforts to complete the “Boomerang Project” an initiative to engage young people that have recently moved from Fulton County to other areas of the state / country to welcome the young men and women back to their hometown.
